ZweiChirurgen launch TOR concept for the treatment of rectus diastasis

In the treatment of symptomatic rectus diastasis, ZweiChirurgen are pursuing an interdisciplinary therapeutic approach. In addition to teamwork in the operating theater between abdominal wall surgery and plastic surgery (so-called Swiss Diamond Repair), physiotherapy is now also more actively integrated before and after the operation. We follow the so-called TOR concept (Training – Operation – Rehabilitation). Women are optimally prepared for the operation in physiotherapy according to a very specific plan and receive physiotherapy support for up to four months after the operation.

The TOR concept was developed in Sweden and studies have shown that women using the TOR concept find their way back into their private and professional lives much more quickly. We invited TOR expert and physiotherapist Katarina Woxnerud from Stockholm (Sweden) for a kick-off workshop. Our physiotherapy team from Basel and Zurich and the surgical team were able to take the opportunity to have an intensive exchange with Ms. Woxnerud.
